Mixed emotions

Nearly every day something happens at work that makes me hate my profession even more. Today a test was administered. A FLIPPIN JANITOR TEST!?! I'm sure I got at least 96%, but I'm the one who could care less. All the people who do care "can't even speak Anglish" (that's right, Anglish). I'm not tryin to be mean or anything but it's true.

Anyhoo, an old high school chum is in town from college for the week and we met up at Ye Ole Chicago when I got off work. We caught up a little bit on the past few months but the majority of the time was spent bringin back old jokes.

We mocked the Chinese's high-5's in the Olympics, took some ridiculous -looking pictures and tried to find the best way to spell our waitress's name (who was very cute btw).

Amidst all the antics, I couldn't help but think about some unfortunate events of this last weekend... the passings of two very influential black men, Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac. I wasn't going to say anything because I figured everybody had already written and/or heard it all. But when I tried to reminisce over these men's lives during dinner, I found that not everybody was able to appreciate the short time they spent on earth. So instead of giving a history lesson, I urge everyone who doesn't know who these pioneers were to do a little research. What they did was not just for black people, but for the world!

It was too early for y'all to leave us, you will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace!

I see what you did there. You made it so when somebody clicks on your name it goes to your blog. Smart move! You should make it go to the actual blog though not your profile.....guy!!!!
